A car accident that occurred in North Carolina on August 1 after a police traffic stop left two people dead. According to authorities, the incident took place on Patterson Road, slightly north of Wake Forest Highway, in Durham at approximately 6 p.m.
The news source said Durham police was asked to assist the Drug Enforcement Administration with stopping a target vehicle of the latter law enforcement agency. The vehicle initially pulled over when officers initiated the stop. However, it sped away at some point during the detainment and collided head-on with a car. The 52-year-old driver of the target vehicle and the 55-year-old driver of the other car both died in the wreck.
When a fatal car accident occurs, family members of a deceased loved one may suffer emotionally and financially. Regarding the latter, they may be responsible for paying any medical bills that may have been incurred during an attempt to treat the loved one. Additionally, if family members depended on a decedent’s income, that circumstance could lead to economic woes as well.
