Shawn is an attorney of Maginnis Howard and works with Britton Law.

Biography

After moving around from military base to military base as a child, Shawn Howard went to high school at Douglas Byrd High when his father was stationed at Fort Bragg. He graduated in 2003. He then earned his undergraduate and law degrees at the University of North Carolina, graduating with honors. He joined the firm's Raleigh office in 2010 and became a partner in 2020, when the firm became Maginnis Howard. He is a member of both the Million Dollar Advocates Forum and the Multi-Million Dollar Advocates Forum, organizations with membership restricted to attorneys who have won million and multi-million dollar settlements or verdicts for their clients.

Shawn was named a Super Lawyer Rising Star for the years 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020. In 2021, he was named a Super Lawyer. His case results have been featured in North Carolina's Lawyers Weekly many times. His multiple one million dollar plus verdicts/settlements include a wide variety of cases including sexual abuse against a church, a case against a college fraternity, cases against bar/restaurants who have overserved drunk drivers, a case against the school system for negligent bus operation, and a case against a car dealership. He and his wife Samantha have two children, Evan and Quinn.
