A North Carolina printing company announced that it bought out a Charlotte-area mailing and fulfillment firm after having acquired another printing operation earlier in December. By establishing a business that would stand as one of the largest privately held companies of its kind in the Carolinas, Imagine Print Solutions said they hoped that their two new interests, Classic Graphics Inc. and Creative Marketing Solutions, would allow them to integrate a variety of marketing and fulfillment services through a single contact point for customers. It was reported that 2013 sales for the combined entities are expected to reach as much as $300 million.

The founder of CMS announced that he would be retiring as managing partner of the company at the end of 2013. He said that his 30 years of fulfillment and direct mail experience serviced some of the country’s most familiar brands. CMS will be moving to Classic Graphics’s former headquarters at Innovation Park. The president of Classic Graphics called the move logical in that his firm had long worked with CMS, and that the combined array of services would create more options to Classic’s customer base.

Just a few weeks before the acquisition of CMS, Imagine Print Solutions had bought out competitor Classic Graphics. Imagine promised that they would be keeping Classic’s president in place and leave the Classic brand untouched.

Establishing a corporation often requires vision as well as capital, and a start-up company faces different challenges from a venerable multi-state corporation. An experienced attorney may be able to assist clients with entity formation, the buyout of another company or other hurdles to regulatory compliance.
