For some people, the instinct to provide aid for another being that is injured is inherent. An alleged hit-and-run accident in North Carolina has left one woman recovering from a serious injury.
Since the accident occurred in early November, police have taken a 23-year-old into custody. According to police claims, the man struck the 20-year-old female driver of a scooter. He allegedly did not remain at the scene.
The young woman was transported to an area hospital where she is being treated for severe injuries. The man has been charged with hit-and-run, a felony, and driving without a license. He is currently being held in a detention center.
The woman will likely face a long recovery as a result of her serious injury. The financial ramifications of such a recovery could be very high — she will face medical bills and potentially lost wages as a result of missing work during her recovery.
