Car crash in North Carolina results in more than $50,000 in damages

Fayetteville residents might complain about how much it costs to carry automobile insurance, but most folks realize that having auto insurance can actually help them save money in the long run. Things happen in life that we will not always be able to prepare for, control, or prevent.

When car accidents happen, motorists might feel some sense of relief to know that insurance should cover some or all of the damages. Even when no one is injured in an auto accident, the costs of other damages could still be very high. Over the weekend, it was reported that a car crash in Greenville resulted in more than $50,000 in damages. Fortunately, no one suffered any life-threatening injuries in the crash.

According to reports, a police chief accidentally crashed his squad car into a home in Greenville. It is believed that the police chief suffered a medical condition while he was driving his vehicle. Two people were inside the house when the incident occurred. They were not harmed in the crash but their house sustained major damage. It is estimated that the damages from the crash have exceeded $50,000.

When folks are involved in auto accidents, they will most likely need to recover compensation for injuries and property damage. Injuries alone could result in thousands of dollars in medical expenses including hospital bills, surgeries, medications and physical therapy. Auto insurance is supposed to help cover these expenses, but insurance companies don’t always make it easy for victims to recover compensation for damages.

Insurers might attempt to offer to settle a victim’s claim for less than what he or she is entitled to receive. And obtaining compensation after a motorist has been struck by an uninsured or underinsured driver may seem impossible. To avoid these unnecessary hassles after a crash and to make sure victims recover adequate compensation for injuries and damages, folks may want to consider working with an attorney who will know how to aggressively and strategically protect their rights after a crash.
