When it comes to teen driving, parents hold the keys. The National Highway transportation & Safety Association lays out 5 ground rules parents should set for their teen drivers:

1. No cell phones
2. No extra passengers
3. No speeding
4. No alcohol
5. Always buckle up

What’s the big deal? Well in 2012, North Carolina ranked second in the country for the most driving deaths among kids ages 16 and 17. Take the time to talk to your teen. Set the ground rules and stick to them. It could save a life.
