Radio Spot: Impaired Driving
Here’s a sobering statistic:
Every day in the United States, close to 30 people die in motor vehicle crashes. These crashes all had a driver. That means, every day, every 48 minutes or so, someone is killed by a drunk driver.
Drinking and driving don’t mix. If you plan to partake in the spirits this holiday season, follow a few simple rules.
- Designate a non-drinking driver.
- Don’t let your friends drive if they have been drinking. If you need to, take or hide their keys in a secure place.
- If you have been drinking, get a ride home or call a taxi.
- If you’re hosting a party, remind guests to designate someone to be the sober driver, offer alcohol-free drinks, and make sure no guest drives if they are intoxicated or at all impaired.
